[摘要]
ABSTRACT
Objective: COVID-19 pandemic brings psychological fear to people due to the rapid spread of information (infodemic). Health literacy is considered helpful to fight against the infodemic during the pandemic. However, because of cultural and language differences, many foreign domestic workers (FDWs) may have limited health literacy. They may have poor levels of health information and become part of a potential chain of communicable diseases. This study aims at finding out the relationship between health literacy and fear amongst FDWs. Method: A cross-sectional survey design study was conducted, using the COVID-19 related health literacy scale (HLS-COVID-19) and COVID-19 fear scale (FCV-19S) self-reported measurement tools. Results: Amongst 379 effective respondents, there are 51.4% who have inadequate or problematic health literacy, and 58.8% have a moderate level of fear. There is a significant negative relationship between health literacy and fear (p<0.001). Older age, females, lower education levels, no regular check-ups, and lack of support are the high-risk group of having misinformation about health among FDWs. Infected family members (p=0.016), together with having physical health care (p=0.010) or body check (p=0.027) as health care reasons (health care habits), and higher health literacy (p<0.001), can adequately explain the fear index (adjusted R2 0.121). Conclusion: This study found that higher levels of health literacy combined with environmental characteristics (health care habits) were the protective factors to fear during the pandemic. Strengthening health literacy and improving health care habits are strategies to promote psychological health in FDWs.

Convenience sampling was conducted in two local universities that provide 4-years Bachelor in nursing programme. Participants included all nursing students in Bachelors program. Students who have already receiving psychological counseling were excluded in this study. The Chinese version of Ryff’s PWB scale, the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale-10 and the Brief COPE were used in this study. Results: A total of 258 nursing students completed the online questionnaire. Most of the participants were female (N = 197, 76.4%) and ages ranged from 18 to 26 years old. The mean score of CD-RISC-10 was 3.01 ± 0.53. Nursing students are appeared better at using problem-approach coping strategy when they face with stress. The mean score of the Ryff’s PWB of nursing students is 4.29 ± 0.61. Conclusion: This study indicated that Macau nursing students have moderate level of resilience, also in PWB. Macau nursing students is commonly used problem approach coping when face stress. Findings of this study highlighted the correlations among resilience, PWB, and the coping strategies in nursing students among Macau. Resilience and effective coping skills found to be a positive influence factor of PWB.

[摘要]
Objectives: With a worldwide ageing population, demand for places in residential nursing homes has also increased, older people in these homes have been shown to have a higher prevalence of depressive symptoms than those living in the community. Macau management of depressive symptoms remains heavily reliant on using antidepressant as frontline treatment, despite concerns of adverse side effects. It has been suggested that non-pharmacological interventions have a potential role in the management of depressive symptoms in this population. One such intervention, Dance movement therapy, has existed for many years. However, for older people in nursing home who may have low mobility and fragility, there is still no specific type of dance for this target population. Therefore, this study aims at assessing the effectiveness of dance movement therapy among older people with depression symptoms in long-term residential care. Methods: This study is a pilot study with pre and post-test of applying dance movement therapy on older people, for 12 weeks in one long term residential care in Macau. Results: Mean score of Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form of participants before receiving dance movement therapy was 10.08 decreasing to 8.08 after intervention. Conclusion: Dance movement therapy can have the potential of minimizing depressive symptoms amongst the older people in long term residual care. In addition, further attention in future since dance therapy holds substantial promise in assisting the older people in improving their depressive symptoms. We recommend larger scale rigorous research studies in this area to fully examine the effectiveness and efficacy of this novel form of exercise intervention.
